Richardson quits, underlines wrong focus

Andrew L. Urban

Dennis Richardson’s resignation from the Bell Royal Commission underscores how the Commission has been sent down the wrong track.

While it is relevant, the focus on the role of the intelligence agencies has – as intended – overshadowed the role of the anti-Israel socio-political environment generated and maintained by the Albanese government ever since October 7, 2023. Turning its back on Israel, the government gave cover – if not permission – for antisemitism to boil over. Can we expect that to be one of the findings of the Bell Royal Commission?

The Bondi massacre was the worst of the antisemitic attacks, but far from the first. As our submission to the Bell Royal Commission points out, it was the fertile socio-political ground nurtured by the Albanese government that is the real culprit, not the security agencies.

No wonder Albanese, Penny Wong et al, are thumping the table that Bondi was a failure of security agencies … they hope the Commission will behave itself and deliver a scathing report blaming everyone except them.

Australians won’t be fooled.
